Here are my predictions for the future development of the series, based on the first episode and promotional materials. Please note that the following contains a lot of speculation and personal opinions about the show's subtext based only on what has aired up until now, and all of it is subject to be updated later. Really, I know nothing about anything, so the smartest choice would be to disbelieve everything I say.
(I'll put my thoughts on symbolism and the like in another post.)
-Kazuki will eventually recognize that he is not cis. He started crossdressing in order to fulfill a request from and connect to his little brother Haruka, but eventually began to do it purely out of enjoyment. His connection with the Azumabashi bridge symbolizes his crossing from one state to the next.
-Enta has had a crush on Kazuki since they were kids, but he doesn't know how to deal with these desires in the context of his conservative family. Will possibly be complicated by Kazuki coming out as Not Cis, and it remains to be seen if Enta is bi, pan, gay, etc.
-Toi is suicidally depressed. He hasn't been able to forge any relationships with anyone except his macho and possibly abusive older brother, who he emulates as a means to not confront the shitty parts of their relationship. He confuses solitude with strength and has typical Toxic Masculinity Issues.
-The three leads together form commentary on three taboo topics in Japan - gender issues, sexuality issues, and mental health.
-At the end of the series, either Enta and Toi will end up as a couple, or the three leads will be in a relationship together. Either way, Kazuki will be the "bridge" connecting the other two. Also Kazuki might be the mandatory tragic sacrifice at the end, but it'll be his "boy self" dying and he'll be reborn.
-One or both of the policemen (but probably at least Mabu) is dead already. Reo is living on trying to resurrect/communicate with/preserve the former. They cannot conceive of a healthy relationship that isn't monogamous and socially-acceptable, etc., hence the desire vs love stuff.
-One or more of the kids will be turned into a zombie at some point.
-Either Keppi, Sara or both are the villains. I'm leaning towards both, working in tandem.
